Comment: Dear Dot How lovely to have such happy memories. She was a truly remarkable little girl.I have heard you talk about her so many times but these were her own words, and it meant a lot to hear them from her through the pages of her poems. I am writing this through many tears although I know you are no longer sad. Sending all my love to you now and always. Your good friend. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Comment: My daughter and I have a very special relationship. After having four sons, very close in age, God gave me Melanie, as a soothing balm for my frizzled nerves. She is a treasure and I know the loss you feel and will always feel. The poems are quite lovely and I thank Maisie for letting me read them. My firstborn was born in 1957 also and last year was deathly ill. We were all worried. Thank God, he pulled thru and is now returned to good health. It is true, you never stop worrying about your children no matter what age they are. You have a legacy of your daughter that is priceless! Good luck to all and God Bless you all! Comment: Seldom have we a chance to see the world through the eyes of a child. Here Jane has shared with us her thoughts, oft meek and always, mild. It is a privilege and an honour to witness such thoughts in descriptive prose, how many of us have tried in vain but alas have not come close. May God Bless her and keep her and allow her work to inspire the young, this site will ensure her work is seen and her talents will not go, unsung.

Comment: Thank you Maisie for telling me about this exceptional web site. What an incredible talent Jane had and how sad that she was taken so young. Surely God must have wanted her so badly but I wish He had left her with us longer. Jane's words are an inspiration and example to us all.

Comment: This little girl was touched with something special and it shows in much of her writing. I sometimes wonder if those who are "taken too soon" are born with a special gift that can be a blessing to those left behind. Dorothy, you must have been to hell and back. I can't imagine what it must be like to lose a child. My daughter of 34 had cancer last year but was one of the lucky ones, but there were times when I wondered...............! You ALWAYS worry, however old they are and you never stop being a parent!! God bless - keep strong. Mary.

Comment: Losing a sister is tragic, being the one to see her lying in the road, being taken by the police to tell our mother of her death, as a sixteen year old....well those are images and memories that burn the soul. Yet this site - reading her writings and people's response to them - makes me realise that whilst the physical presence of Jane is no more, she lives on in the impact her words have on people who knew her, and those who did not; something most of us will never achieve despite living many decades longer than she did. I feel odd writing this, as I have shut memories out, this has changed my perspective and opened my mind to things before that terrible day and it's memories, making the awfulness diminish as the good things (the sunshine if you like) wash over it. My thanks to all who have made this site possible. John

Comment: I am really touched, reading Jane's poems and coming across this website. Jane was a wonderful little girl, and very intelligent too. I would actually be exactly 11 years younger than her, as I was born two months after her tragic accident, in November 1968. It's wonderful that her words are now being read by hundreds, perhaps thousands of people and continue to touch people's hearts. Jane can still teach a lesson or two to quite a few people! Thank-you for sharing. Isabelle A Bridge

Comment: I discovered this collection of Jane's poems via my son who met the priest who conducted Jane's funeral. I was Jane's teacher during her final year at Headley Park School and attended her funeral with Peter Searle, head of the school. I was a very young teacher at that time but never forgot Jane and the creative writing we did during that year. Mr Searle used to take the rest of my class so that I could ferry a car-load of children up Dundry Hill or to the suspension bridge where, clipboards and pencils at the ready, we described what we could see. Perhaps this helped to feed Jane's talent - I'd like to think so!

Comment: My goodness, what a beautiful , talented child. I was very moved with the poem about the sea. It had a echo of my favourite musician's song 'Children of Paradise' - he actally says''With the crashing of the waves'and this was written in 1977 for his album 'The View From the Hill' The musicaian name is Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues - the beauty of her words are so dreamlike and awe inspiring. God bless, little child of paradise... Noreen
